Saint-Marcel-sur-Aude appears first in 1105 in Gallo Roman times.
On the hill overlooking the Aude plain, St. Marcel was an important passageway between the hinterland of Narbonne and the sea. St. Marcel, part of the Grand Narbonne, is located in the cœur du vignoble languedocien, between the three arms of l'Aude, la Cesse et le Canal du Midi.

The various associations in our small village organize various events throughout the year, such as parties, concerts or children's games.
Many of our guests like to participate and you are cordially invited.

Our village has a wonderful old core and continues to grow outward.

There are nice restaurants and a few small shops.
